Palladium is in trouble.
It seems like we are on the verge of losing yet another gaming company.
http://forums.palladium-megaverse.com/viewtopic.php?t=57048
While I was never a big player of their games, I would be sad to see them go. RIFTS is an interesting line with near-endless possiblities. "Nightbane" had some cool ideas, and character creation was a lot of fun with all the random tables. "Robotech." For that game alone, I want this company to continue. Sure, I don't yet own _all_ the books, nor have I played it in several years, but it was a big part of my life in early high school.
God, I wish I had enough money to invest in bailing them out.
Maybe I should buy a lotto ticket. |

Merrik and Jadefox, John wants to set up a group for this, and I'd like to do it too. So, if you're interested in joining us, we need the required info from you two to send off the enrollment email. You can post it here as a comment, or (more securely) email it to me. Sk_brainstorm, I'd ask you if you were interested joining too, but thats a lot of running back and forth for stuff...
Let me know what y'all think. |

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian. |

| Goodbye Grigori |

mood: crushed

Grigori was worse when I got home tonight. He couldn't really move without it it being a spasm, and he was utterly limp when I picked him up. I held him for a while, stroking him and talking to him. He even spoke back. Unfortunately, not only do they brux when happy, they brux when they're in pain. I asked him if he wanted to stop suffering, and he did. So we took him in (after some troubles). We picked up Bekka from work, and went over to the vet.
They wouldn't let us be there for the end, so we spent a tearful few minutes saying goodbye. Even Griogri was crying.
This was easily the most difficult decision I have ever made. I'm not sure how I feel. I miss him. I miss him terribly. Part of me is relieved. He's not suffering anymore, and I dont have to see him languishing. However, part of me feels like I gave up on him. We were trying the meds, and they might have been working. He might have bounced back from whatever was dragging him down.
I know I should go clean up, but I don't know if I can face his empty cage. |

Grigori is sick.
I don't know how bad it is, but it doesn't seem good. He has no energy and no sense of balance. He hardly moves. His front paws don't seem to be working well, a he doesn't pick things up anymore. He's only been interested in soft food, but not for water...
If those of you of a more spiritual leaning wouldn't mind, a prayer offered for him would be muchly appreciated. |

I finally had a day where I did over 5000 words on my Nano. Now I need to do that again for the next three days in order to finish on time. At least I'm at the point where I can start tying things together and working to my climax. Since that's a lot o action, and a lot of it has been sitting in my head for the past 6 weeks, hopefully it should be easy.
That is if I can sto playing with my new toy... I don't loaded Google Earth. It's damned cool... Now, if I can just get the Delorme collection of USGS maps on DVD-ROM to use alongside it.... |

I still have no idea for a title for this book. It's a historical piece set in Maine the late 1870's.

 | You scored as Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones is an archaeologist/adventurer with an unquenchable love for danger and excitement. He travels the globe in search of historical relics. He loves travel, excitement, and a good archaeological discovery. He hates Nazis and snakes, perhaps to the same degree. He always brings along his trusty whip and fedora. He's tough, cool, and dedicated. He relies on both brains and brawn to get him out of trouble and into it.
